This unique end of summer intensive is the ideal preparation to return to form after the summer break and elevate your technique and artistry to new levels. Three intensive mornings from 9.00 to 13.00 beginning with a Progressing Ballet Technique class with Yolandi Moreira followed by 2.5 hours of barre, technique, jumps and repertoire classes with the Royal Ballet’s Vadim Muntagirov, one of the most outstanding dancers in the world today.

Teacher Biographies:

Vadim

Russian dancer Vadim Muntagirov is a Principal of The Royal Ballet. He trained at The Royal Ballet Upper School and joined the Company from English National Ballet as a Principal in March 2014. His roles with the Company include Basilio (Don Quixote), Albrecht (Giselle), Prince Siegfried (Swan Lake), Aminta (Sylvia), Prince Florimund (The Sleeping Beauty), Prince (The Nutcracker), Colas (La Fille mal gardée), Franz (Coppélia), Apollo, the Girl’s Cousin (The Invitation), Young Man (Two Pigeons), Onegin and Lensky (Onegin), Romeo (Romeo and Juliet), Des Grieux (Manon), Jack/Knave of Hearts (Alice’s Adventures in Wonderland), Florizel (The Winter’s Tale), Don José (Carmen), Lt Colonel Vershinin (Winter Dreams), Beliaev (A Month in the Country) and in The Vertiginous Thrill of Exactitude, ‘Diamonds’ (Jewels), The Human SeasonsSymphonic VariationsAsphodel MeadowsThe Four TemperamentsAfternoon of a FaunTchaikovsky Pas de DeuxRaymonda Act III and Within the Golden Hour. Yolandi

South African born Yolandi started her ballet training at age four. From age twelve she was taught  by Martin Schonberg’s Ballet Theatre Afrikan Academy of Dance and attended the National School  of the Arts from 1996-1999. She completed her schooling at Canada’s National Ballet School in  Toronto. In 1998 Yolandi won the Prix de l’association pour de l’Opera National de Paris at the 8th  concours international De Danse de Paris. In 1999, she was a semi-finalist the the Prix de  Lausanne winning her scholarship to train in Canada. In 2001, she participated in the Helsinki  International Ballet Competition and won the South African leg of the International Cecchetti  competition. Later that year she won second prize in the international leg of the same competition  in Melbourne, Australia. She returned to Helsinki in 2005 where she was a semi-finalist at the  Helsinki International Ballet Competition.  In 2000, upon her return to South Africa, she joined the Ballet Theatre Afrikan Company (BTA) as  a principal dancer. Whilst with BTA she toured South Africa performing a number of principal roles  including Paquita, Aurora in the Sleeping Beauty, Grand Pas Classique as well as Odette/Odile  from in Swan Lake. Yolandi teaches PBT and Classical Ballet at Danceworks, and is a valued member of our mentorship faculty.
