Class Description
HOMOPARODY dance classes are a fun and inclusive environment. We create a safe space for all members of our community to express themselves and live their true authentic selves without fear of judgement or any level of competition. We are supportive of dancers at all levels and encourage everyone to live their full pop star fantasy. Expect pop bangers, original choreography and lots of fun.
Biography
David trained at Tring Park and Bird College where he graduated with a first class BA (Hons) in Dance and Theatre Performance. He is currently Mr Gay England 2022 and is using his title to combat loneliness and help the elderly in the LGBTQ+ community. David set up HOMOPARODY during lockdown as a way of bringing the LGBTQ+ community back together. They recreate iconic music videos, raise money for charity, perform at live events and Prides and have a strong community including dance classes and meet-ups.
Choreography credits include: Aladdin at the Sunderland Empire 2022, St Trinian’s at The Arts Centre, Hounslow. In 2021, David choreographed Peter Pan at the Pavilion Theatre, Bournemouth. He also directed and choreographed Le Grand Cirque, Taiwan for Spirit Productions at the Taipei Arena (2021). He also choreographed Beauty and The Beast for UK Productions at the Theatre Royal, Bath (2019-2020). From 2016-2020 David was a resident choreographer for Dublin Worldwide and Spirit Productions USA and worked on shows such as Twist and Shout, Rock Around the Clock and Dancing Queen. He also directed and choreographed Solid Gold Motown (Avalon Theatre, Canada) and Le Grand Cirque Myrtle Beach, South Carolina in 2019. Other credits include director and co-choreographer for Fame (2018) at the Paul Robeson Theatre; Moulin Rouge (2017) Watermans Theatre, London; Michelle Visage in West End Bares (2017) Novello Theatre and Panem (2016) West Wing Arts Centre. David was also assistant choreographer for Jack and the Beanstalk 2016 (Anvil Arts Centre) and resident choreographer for Ghost the Musical at the English Theatre Frankfurt (2014).
