Join International Ballet Master Alejandro Parente teaching a series of two brilliant Masterclasses from Argentina, joined from London by Royal Ballet star Marianela Nunez.

Their objective is to keep dancers moving forward with their dance training as much as possible during these challenging times. Each masterclass will begin with standard barre work, focusing on the upper body placement, posture, arm movements and coordination until we get to center work. The center work will start with simple steps and finish with more challenging ones including pirouettes and a few jumps, maintaining their technique but also prioritising to help students dance injury-free. Participants will have the opportunity to send in questions for Alejandro and Marianela and the price includes a copy of the Masterclass recording.


Alejandro studied at the Higher Institute of Art of the Teatro Colón with the masters Rosmarie Achard, Wasil Tupin, Enrique Lommi and especially under the tutelage of Rada Eichembaum. At the age of 16 he joined the company Ballet Estable del Teatro Colon as a corps de ballet member and quickly becoming a Principal Dancer and doing most of the main roles in the company’s extensive repertoire.

He has received Figure of the Clarín Dance Awards, the José Neglia Award and was distinguished with the Konex Award for the best Argentine dancers of the last decade.

He participates in numerous international galas and is invited as Guest Principal Artist in many companies around the world . He also has directed and produced numerous shows within Argentina. He was a professor of the Academy of Ballet in the Opera of Vienna, Artistic advisor of the Teatro Argentino de la Plata, Ballet Master of the Teatro Colón de Buenos Aires. He also Works together with Marianela Nuñez from Royal ballet in several national and international tours. On August the 8th 2018 he has retired from The Ballet Estable del Teatro Colon as a dancer after 29 years of his career as a dancer.

And now he works as a guest teacher at world top class ballet companies, Teatro Alla Scala de Milan,Opera Di Roma,Ballet Estable del Teatro Colon and The Royal Ballet.

Marianela Nunez

Marianela Nuñez was born in Buenos Aires and began dancing at the age of three. When she was six she began training at the Teatro Colón Ballet School, joining the Teatro Colón company aged 14. She took on corps and soloist roles and toured internationally, both with the company and as a guest artist with Maximiliano Guerra.

Argentine dancer Marianela Nuñez is a Principal of The Royal Ballet. She joined The Royal Ballet Upper School in 1997 and joined the Company in 1998, promoted to First Soloist in 2000 and to Principal in 2002 aged 20. She has performed all the leading roles in the classical, dramatic and contemporary repertory, to name a few some include works by Frederick Ashton, George Balanchine, John Cranko, Wayne McGregor, and Jerome Robbins.

Some of Nuñez’s awards include Best Female Dancer at the 2005, 2012 and 2018 Critics’ Circle National Dance Awards, Konex de Platino for Best Dancer of the Decade in Argentina in 2009 and the María Ruanova Award in 2011. She received the 2013 Olivier Award for Outstanding Achievement in Dance, in recognition of her performances in Viscera and in roles created on her in Aeternum and ‘Diana and Actaeon’(Metamorphosis: Titian 2012).
