This sickening class is dedicated to making participants feel like a true superstar!

The class includes an extensive warmup/stretch, across the floor exercises, and a final combination of original choreography. Participants are encouraged to express themselves, gain new skills, and feel amazing in this hip-hop oriented jazz funk atmosphere.

Laganja’s Dance School is also held weekly at The Basement Center of NoHo in North Hollywood, and a beginning Heels Technique class is held at Downtown Dance and Movement in Downtown Los Angeles. Dancers and non-dancers are encouraged to participate and push the limits of their sassy bodies. Class is taught at a professional level, but all ages and abilities are welcome!

About Laganja Estranja

Jackson grew up in Dallas, Texas before moving to California and receiving a Bachelor of Fine Arts in dance/choreography/ nailography at the California Institute of Fine Arts. Laganja Estranja came to be when Alyssa Edwards put Jay into drag as he looked up to and admired Alyssa. Jay was working for Justin (Alyssa) at his dance studio, #BeyondBelief, as a choreographer at the time, and had also worked for Justin’s competitor, Davenport. Since her appearance on RuPaul’s Drag Race, Laganja Estranja has performed countless drag shows across the world.
In December 2012, Laganja competed in her first contest at Micky’s in West Hollywood, California, and won a monthly spot as an official performer in “Showgirls, the Rusical”. Since then, she’s been sweeping out the competition and has received numerous titles such as Drag Idol, Queen of Dallas, and 2055 Top Newcomer. Laganja is a returning performer at Micky’s, Hamburger Mary’s WeHo, The Abbey, Rage, 340 Nightclub, VIP Riverside, Toucan’s Tiki Lounge, and Hamburger Mary’s Westfield. Additionally, Laganja has also appeared as a contortionist alongside Christina Aguilera for the American Music Awards, as a “Glamazon” for photographer Austin Young, and as a featured actress in Nana Ganja’s “L.A. Rising”. She also has her own Dance classes in WeHo.
Laganja’s choreography credits include Germany’s Next Top Model, NYC Cosmetics FACE Awards, and for commercial artists such as Miley Cyrus and Brooke Candy.

Laganja Estranja on Rupaul’s Drag Race

At the outset of the show, Laganja received a lot of attention on social media for her now-iconic entrance. During the show, Laganja became infamous for her over-the-top dramatics, catchphrases, and emotional breakdowns. Eventual winner Bianca Del Rio credited Laganja as the root of every memorable quote from the following season of RuPaul’s Drag Race. Laganja’s mannerisms have since been parodied by fellow drag queens.
Laganja Estranja is the drag daughter of Alyssa Edwards and the drag sister of Shangela also Plastique Tiara — all of whom competed on RuPaul’s Drag Race.
Since her appearance on RuPaul’s Drag Race, Laganja Estranja has performed countless drag shows across the world.
