Marta Valverde Roca – Contemporary teacher at Danceworks Ballet Academy in London
Marta trained professionally in Contemporary and Hip Hop dance in Maria Carbonell Escuela de Danza (Spain) and with Associació de Dança Gerard Collins (Mamen García) learning from renown dancers and choreographers such as Iván Perez, Gustavo Ramírez and Christine Cloux. She was awarded a grant for further studies by Gerard Collins for her collaborative work ‘Stupid Things That We Do’.
After moving to London, she has been working as a freelance artist and teacher as well as being part of several companies among which Alias LDN, Rebirth Network, Instigate Unknown and collective I=WE. Her work includes assisting movement for commercials and music artists, residencies and collaborations with Ginga Capoeira Brasil Associaçao (Lisboa), Untold Dance Co. (NL), Michael Simon (UK), corporate and commercial work (Paul Oakenfeld, Movistar) and theatre work (Resolution, Camden Fringe, GDIF, Collabo, etc.).
In her classes she uses principles from different contemporary techniques, mainly release, limón, tanztheater and graham as well as applying elements from her varied dance background in her floorwork, use of musicality and rhythm.
