Hannah Frost Beginner's Ballet teacher in London at Danceworks Studios

Biography

Hannah trained at The Urdang Academy, Covent Garden, and went on to work with the ballet companies of the Stadttheater Bremerhaven and Theater Vorpommern Greifswald. She performed on the Jedermann stage at the Salzburg Festival with the New English Orchestra and toured Spain and England, dancing in new neoclassical and contemporary works. She then worked as a freelance dancer with various choreographers including Milo Miles and Celia Grannum.

Hannah started her teaching career with floor barre and then continued to teach all levels of ballet. She specializes in teaching beginners of all ages and is passionate about building correct, safe techniques from day one. She enjoys seeing what students gain from ballet which goes beyond the steps, such as learning a new skill, being part of a community, and building confidence as well as improved posture, fitness, and well-being.

Class Descriptions

Beginner’s Ballet

This is a very basic class focusing on correct placement of the body, correct technique, and safe alignment. It is suitable for 18-year-olds and over, to teach the foundation of ballet technique so that students can progress safely to the next level. The class comprises a slow barre which remains the same for a few weeks to enable students to concentrate on muscles and technique, rather than picking up new combinations. The class continues in the center with exercises such as port de bras, adagio, preparation for pirouettes, and simple jumps. Every student gets personal corrections to enable them to work correctly, safely and progress, regardless of past experience. Wear something comfortable that you can move in, socks are fine to start with.
