Biography

Érico was born in São Paulo, Brazil, and did most of his training there before moving to London to train at London Studio Centre on a scholarship. He joined the Royal Ballet Upper School for one year before joining The Royal Ballet in 2004, he was promoted to First Artist in 2010.

He danced in the Royal Ballet’s entire repertoire at The Royal Opera House and toured internationally with the company. He was in the original cast of Alice’s adventures in Wonderland, The Winter’s Tale, Frankenstein and Flight Pattern. His roles include Catalabutte, Friar Laurence, Wilfred, Steward, Pedro Gautreau amongst many others.

He choreographed his first ballet for the company’s Draft Works in 2005 and has created full length ballets for London Children’s Ballet, Athens Children’s Ballet, Constela Ballet, New English Ballet Theatre and London Studio Centre’s Images. In the summer of 2017 he produced a whole evening of his own work performed by dancers of The Royal Ballet at the Pjazza Teatru Real in Malta.

He’s now a regular Guest Teacher at the Royal Ballet. Previously he has taught for the London Children’s Ballet Ballet for Boys programme as well as other schools in London, Greece, Malta, Morocco, Brazil and Holland.

Having just completed a long career with The Royal Ballet, where he worked closely with some of the best teachers and dancers in the world, Erico hopes to pass on all his experience and passion for dance.

Erico hopes to create a positive environment and help dancers gain the confidence to reach their full potential.
