He joined the Royal Ballet Upper School for one year before joining The Royal Ballet in 2004. He was promoted to First Artist in 2010.
As well as dancing a plethora of roles with the company, Erico is renowned as a choreographer. He made his first ballet for the company’s Draft Works in 2005 and has been choreographing ever since.
He has created full length ballets for London Children’s Ballet (The Secret Garden, Nanny McPhee) and Athens Children’s Ballet (Persephone, Hansel&Gretel) as well as shorter pieces for Constela Ballet (Renard), New English Ballet Theatre (Toca, Wessendonk Lieder and Unbridled Blood) and London Studio Centre’s Images (Suite in Colour).
In the summer of 2017 he produced a whole evening of his own work performed by dancers of The Royal Ballet at the Pjazza Teatru Real in Malta. For this performance British composer Oliver Davis wrote a new score for a piece that was presented alongside Davis’ Anno.
Erico is currently a Patron, co-Artistic Director and regular guest teacher of Danceworks Ballet Academy. He has taught for the London Children’s Ballet Ballet for Boys programme as well as other schools in London, Greece, Malta, Morocco, Brazil and Holand.
A unique opportunity for male dancers to take ballet class designed to advance their technique, knowledge and understanding of classical ballet in the company of others who share their passion. Girls and women who enjoy training with boys and men are also welcome to this class.
