These Saturday morning Ballet classes are for students that aspire to improve their level of ballet technique. This programme will enhance ability and artistry, ensuring ballet vocabulary is secure, as they benefit from Danceworks renowned training excellence, as well as preparation for vocational programmes and summer school auditions and competitions.
Class 1: Students aged between 8-11 years will be expected to have at least two years of previous ballet training to attend. This can be RAD, ISTD, Cecchetti etc but not necessarily exam based.
This class is designed to bring the students to a level where they can enter into vocational schools by carefully building up strong classical technique and confidence. Every student’s options will be carefully considered to get them on track with auditions that will pave their way into different intensive programmes locally and abroad. These classes will enhance their chances of achieving all their training goals.
Class 2: Students aged between 12-16 years will be expected to have at least four years of training.
These students may not necessarily be aiming to attend vocational schools but would still like to receive the same quality of training that renowned schools have on offer. It is also suitable for students requiring additional excellent coaching to help with auditions and competitions. There are many benefits for young ballet dancers to be connected to Danceworks which attracts the world’s leading dance stars to teach. To apply, please complete the application from below. By the time the students reach the age of 16 they should feel confident enough physically and emotionally to further their options into a career of dance.
Additional personalised coaching and mentoring is available as well as video production and studio online auditions, for all ages.
Danceworks is internationally renowned for its faculty of Ballet teachers as well as its regular Masterclasses taught by Ballet stars including Marianela Nunez and Vadim Muntegirov. Class 2 students on the Junior Associates Programme will have the opportunity to attend these. Class 2 students will also be invited to join our Progressive Ballet Technique (PBT) class from 12.00-13.00 every Saturday with a 50% fee reduction.
Olivia was born and brought up in the Western Cape in South Africa. She embarked on her ballet journey at a young age and later moved to Cape Town to train with Martin Schonberg.
During her training, Olivia spent hours at the barre finding and working pure technique. Olivia found passion in building strength and flexibility for her dancing. This has resulted in a strong adage which is her favorite part of a class.
During the pandemic Olivia completed her Yoga Teaching Qualification and received a certificate in nutrition.
Post pandemic Olivia Spent some time dancing in Biarritz France aswell as was apart of Ballet Cymru 2 in Wales.
She is now freelancing in London where she trains with Yolandi Moreira and Isabella McGuire.
